'92 Steering Wheel

I was wondering how you would pull the steering wheel off of a '92 camaro. The problem that I have is the airbag in the way. It so much easier on the earlier models. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pull the steering wheel with the airbag. Thanks

Its just as easy as one without the bag just start by pulling the SIR fuse & possibly disconnect the battery just for safety sake(safety first ya know...you don't want that thing blowing with you in front of it!). There are four torx screws (#27's I think) on the back side securing the air bag to the steering wheel. Back them out evenly alternating from one to another back & forth until all are out. Slowly flip the bag over, pull the green tab holding the wiring connector together & disconnect the yellow wire from the wheel. The rest should be the same as the old but if you run into problems let me know I can scan step by step pages from my Chilton's & post them here if needed.
Note: when ya get to pulling the red wire for the horn it is spring loaded just push in & turn it a quarter turn or so counterclockwise I believe to release it from the white tube that its inserted in. If you just try to pull it out you will break the tube. Just curious but why are you pulling it???

Good Luck,
Simpleman
