Tinting T-tops

Hi; I'm not 100% sure if this is the right thread for this but I've been thinking about maybe getting the T-tops tinted since they tend to let a bit too much sunlight in sometimes and if I want an open air feeling I'll just take off the tops anyway. Does anybody do this & is this a good solution?

Re: Tinting T-tops

The inserts GM made are rare it seems these days. Hawks makes inserts though. Maybe look into those. I have GM originals, they are in as long as I have the tops in.

I had mine tinted 5% shortly after I bought the car (new) and have had no issues with them.

Re: Tinting T-tops

For what it's worth....the modern ceramic tints that block UV rays make a huge difference in the heat they allow in. I always liked the light from the t tops but not the heat. You can even get a clear UV tint, and it DOES cut the heat quite a bit. Lotsa people doing this on windshields. Anyhow....if it's the heat more so than the light...maybe that's an option.
