Emergency brake spring

I believe I need to replace the spring in my emergency handle but can’t find where to buy. 1986 iroc z when I push in the button it sinks down in the handle and doesn’t want to pop back out. Any idea on where to buy the spring?

Re: Emergency brake spring

Your more than likely gonna have to source a complete E brake assemble, there aren't any off the shelf replacements specifically for this, If you have the spring removed you could source a replacement from somewhere like McMaster-Carr, your gonna need the free overall length, the outside diameter and the wire/spring diameter, with those three measurements you might be able to come up with a suitable replacement.

Remember, "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware ... (probably should be person these days)." If you have a real local hardware store you might find a suitable replacement - it's amazing what they sometimes carry.
