Need help with drivers seat mechanism in 1990 camaro
Hi guys,I have a 90 Camaro and lowered the seat back to take a rest during my lunch break. A little while later I heard a snap and the when I went to raise the seat it wouldnt go up and had no spring tension anymore. Obviously the spring broke. I had to mess with it lifting ir forward and the trying to put the latch down several times before I could get the seat back up locked into the driver's position. Now when I try to lower the seat back even a little way it will not latch it just Falls straight back. Anybody have any experience with this problem with their reclining seats in their third gen? What did you do to fix it

Sounds like the flat coiled spring in the recline assembly broke or the "hook" on the assembly that holds the end of the spring under tension. If so, be easier to just replace the recline assembly. I might be wrong in my edgimacated guess, but i believe that be the spring/hook that broke.

I just pulled out a pair of seat hinges for another member and I do still have a couple of these things left. If you find out that you can't repair / re-set your current hinge and need a replacement, just send me a PM.
