Time to rewrap leather steering wheel

Yes, for 20 years or so I had planned to send off the steering wheel to Chuck P. to wrap it. For many years I kept getting sidetracked as I stored the car for winter. But now I will finally (knock on my wooden head) do it myself. I was going to order from Redlinegoods.com but I hesitated due to one option: padding. They describe it as adding extra padding to make the wheel thicker; however, would this be the same padding that would go over the bare steering wheel? Has anyone purchased from Redline and could recommend this foam padding option? If not, what medium density foam would be recommended to have my IROC steering wheel be the stock feel?

Thanks.

Hi Greg I just did this operation myself with the Redline Goods wrap and it worked for me. If I did it again I would do the padding option they offer, take a look at my post in the "aftermarket product review" section with description and photos, Todd C

Just had mine redone. It's hard to find shops in the Toronto area that touch steering wheels but this fella did a great job.

Do you know the cost, or happen to remember the name? Looked but couldn't find anything in MI.

it was $185 on your core, I couldn’t believe they had the exact camel tan. I have their contact, I’ll have to dig it out.
