Aftermarket carpet Colors

84 Z, looking to get some of the premolded carpet but the difference in colors names across the aftermarket brands is a bit confusing. Does anyone have any photos and color choices you went with when replacing the carpet? I'm looking to do the medium/dark gray shade as shown in an example below. Something to maybe match lower door panels and center console side carpet. Some sites have Charcoal which is gray than others have Charcoal and it looks brown, so I'm a bit lost. Does anyone have any examples of what you went with?

Re: Aftermarket carpet Colors

I've been looking at OER on Jegs, OC, and stockinterior. The previous owner put the cheapest of cheap black roll out carpet in mine, so while I was having some subframe connectors welded and the carpet was rolled back, I figured I'd get some new carpet. At this point I may go black to save myself the frustration...at least I know what I'm getting. I'm pretty sure it's all a mismatch, my headliner and trunk are probably the original gray.

Thanks for the info @scottt89

you still got your RPO tag? It should have your stock interior codes. I decoded mine at Austin third gen. In case you care to find out.

Re: Aftermarket carpet Colors

82-84 colors are different than 85-92 colors. But ACC (the manufacturer) colors don't make that distinction, and they don't have GM color names, so your best bet is to get samples and compare them to the colors you already have in the car.

Cut Pile is the stock-like carpet and will have the most choices and more accurate colors. Ultra Plush/Essex is the "luxury" carpet, and it has a short list of colors, none of which will match factory, but some might be "close enough," so you'd definitely need samples if you choose that carpet.

Medium Dark Grey was an 85-92 color, so it won't match whatever grey still exists in your 84, but if you're changing everything, then that won't matter. If that's what you want, it's ACC #877 Dove Grey, which isn't listed by some vendors, so it might have to be asked for through direct contact.

Thanks for the info. I ended up pulling the trigger on the OC Charcoal after the rep called me to confirm some shipping addess questions. I asked for a possible example and she sent me this image, in case it helps anyone out.
