I wonder if there is a retailer clip inside the knob that will create tension once installed. The AI suggests that a u-clip may be the key like the GM 10028352 Shift Knob / Handle Retainer Clip. What have you tried?

The **** will not stay on the seat metal shaft . I wonder if there is a retailer clip inside the **** that will create tension once installed.
The AI suggests that a u-clip may be the key like the GM 10028352 Shift **** / Handle Retainer Clip.
