Re: Firebird front seat flip **** removal?

IIRC Some seat reclining mechanisms had a small metal "lever" ( it was not very user friendly ! ), some had a plastic **** as kinda' a "cover" over this metal lever, and some had a lever that was entirely plastic. The entirely plastic type of reclining mechanism would probably need to be replaced if the 'lever' broke off,...

If it's like the seat track ****, the sneaky way is to clamp a vise grip to the steel close to the ****, then use a drum brake adjuster spoon or something similar as a prybar between the vise grip and the blind side of the **** to pry it off.

Re: Firebird front seat flip **** removal?

Hi, when I replaced my seat covers I had to remove the flip lever. On my car 87 formula, there was a tiny drift pin in it.Really hard to get out. I had to drill it out.

My '92 has the pins. If you pried it off then the **** is broken.
