trouble code question????? LT1
ok guys i am still fighting this car. it still isnt running right. I bought a code scaners and this is what ihave. code 26 (output driver module CCP circut, code 43 Electric spark control mod. or sensor problem, 97 ignition system problem 4X sensor circuit problem and numerous tranny but thats from me using a 700r4. This is all the part that i have changed New optispark with cap and rotor, spark plugs wires, just replaced ignition control mod. coil ohmed out good. does anyone have any ideas what is wrong with thids thing. it runs bad, seems like it has a bad miss. Hope some one can help with this. the code # is what the scaner is putting out and if i look it up in the manual the code # are wrong the show diff problems according to the manual????? ANYONE this is on a 95 lt1

all of the ones you listed with numbers have to do with the Opti. make sure the plug going to the Opti is fully seated, I've made the mistake before of not pushing it in until its fully down. The 4x sensor code has to do with the optical sensor inside the opti. Are you running a manual or auto program?

well cked my plugs and 5,7,2,4 arewhite likr new and no fuel smell and 1,3,6,8 are black. i cked spark and pulse and they are both there. i guess it is injectors but still makes no sence what it is showing ignition codes??????? i there any way to see if the injectors are clogged?

I cant see 4 injectors all failing at once. Ar you sure those 4 are getting pulse? If so look for 12 volts at one of the wires with the key on.

well i changed the knock and o2 today and they are still there?????? i am still getting the 43 code and the 97 i know why i have the 97 but the 43 is driving me crazy. when i read the engine data when it is running the knock sensor is showing 10 and when i rev it up it doesnt change but the knock retard does??? and anouther thing in i notices that both fans kick on, but when i erase the codes 2 times while it is running they will shut off then come back on after the engine light comes back? and also i noticed the the o2 sensor that i changed is reading around 900 to 950 jumping between the two and the old one is reading around 300 to 350 jumping around depending on throttle. how can i ck the wire that is going to the knock sensor and is the o2 sensor readings right? I am lost on what else to do i am getting to the point of just pulling this out and putting the 305 back in, so any ideas will be greatly appriciated. Oh and the car is still running like crapy rough idle and throught rev. do u think it might be the coil i havent changed it yet

well i have been posting on both this site and z28.com and i can seem to get any sugestions on were to go next. I still have the 43 code and i have changed the knock sensor and module along with all the ignition parts, opti complete, coil, ignition module, spark plugs, spark plug wires, cked all the wiring going to the opti, ignition module, and knock sensor and they all cked good. I am lost on what to do next. i am going to send the computer to get reflashed with the factory z28 settings and put the manual trany program in so i will get rid of all the tranny codes. i also am getting the low oil signal circut code. i done have the light hooked up since i dont have a light for it in my dash, well i dont think i do. i figured i would hook up a light to it so it will go away.. oh yeah the car is running really rough that is the problem i forgot to say that. well any advise would be appriciated i would love to drive this car some time. lol. thanks sean

The only thing that comes to mind for both fans kicking on is that you possibly have a blown air pump fuse or bad pump itself if so equipped. I think it is a 20amp and there was a TSB for this. Otherwise, it can also be that the computer is going into a closed loop mode as a safety precaution. First, get your computer reprogrammed and see what happens next. I'm thinking that code may diasappear on you.

this will be the 3rd time grtting it programed. i hope this helps me out. I am not running the smog pump or the egr they were deleted out the last time i had it programed. I need to get the stuff to do the programing my self. I will let you know what happens when i get the computer back. thanks
