List for LS1...

Hey, everyone I am a Noob to the 3rd Gen Camaro world. I have gone to the search bar and done a whole lot of research on the LS1 swap but, what I need is like a list of all the things you need for a swap.

Ohh and thanks 89 Iroc Z for the Questions & Answers Thread.

Please help me out. I Drive a 88 Camaro 305, in case you need to know that.

Thanks,
Carlos

basic:

engine mounts (or tubular Kmember with LS1 mounts)
trans crossmember.

once you have thoes, the large physical parts are in.

then theres the fuel system:

method1:
keep everything stock, add a regulator and a single line to the fuel rail.

method2:
get a corvette filter/regulator and modify the lines.

method3:
replace the entire tank/pump assembly with a 4thgen one, then run the lines.

theres other ways too... most of the time, you'll also want to or need to replace the pump.

then theres the cooling system:
upper hose: stock LS1 upper
lower hose: do a search on my name for the gates part #.
flush it best you can. then fill it with "all compatible" antifreeze... after running like that awhile, you can run whatever you want to switch the system to.
stock elec fan(s) work great.

then theres the air intake.. lots of options, but most go for a 4" to 3.5" elbow (throttlebody is 4", MAF is 3.5") followed by a tube, then a cone filter.

then theres the exhaust:
you can use the stock manifolds, and have a y pipe made.
or you can buy Hawks longtube headers
or you can make your own headers (or have them made)
no, 4thgen ones dont fit. some are closer then others, but none fit.

then theres the electrical.. do a search for specifics, but its not as hard as you would think. basicly its power for the engine... the engine harness itself does most of the work... then theres the gauges and little things like reverse lights... none are that hard.

search in the conversions and hybrids forum of www.ls1tech.com for more info too.

Thanks a lot man. Is there anything else I should know about. How about the A/C Compressor and the A/C Lines? Can I use the same lines and Compressor? I remember hearing something about having to modify the A/C Lines to the LS1 Compressor.
