The motor went....

BOOM....j/k. Apparently I blew a rear main seal out and ended up spinning the #5 rod bearing, no biggie. My machinist said it will turn with no problems. Going to build it up a bit, have a buddy with a CC306 I'm going to put in the car, that with some mildly ported heads and the 3.70 gears should make the car move pretty good (like it didn't before ) Guess we'll see in a couple of weeks when I get the block/crank/pistons/heads back.

It wasn't bad at all either for parts, entire rebuild kit, with new oil pump, timing set, gaskets, bearings, rings, and freeze plugs was 384.00 plus his labor, total I'll probaly have about 900 after I'm done with it with the cam and new valve springs.

Sorry to hear that... but now it just gives you the opportunity to beef it up some more. Good luck with everything though.

that makes absolutely no sense. you wont starve engine bearings because of a leaking rear main seal, unless of course you fail to check your oil level more than once a year. even so, the #5 normally shouldnt be the first bearing to go, it should be the #1/#2. i would venture to say you've got bigger problems with the engine.
