I think thats a pretty decent deal as long as it comes with all the accessories. It came with 275 from the factory plus the cam might be 285hp. Not sure thought. All I know is its got 275 from the factory.

if its just the regular LT4 cam you might pick up 10-20 hp over stock. The LT4's were rated at 330hp.

$1300 isn't too bad as long as it comes with all of the accessories as well like Red pointed out. If it doesn't, keep looking.

heres what the guy posted...i dont know much about pricing and stuff but it seemed like an awwesome deal. am i right in assuming htat?

This LT1 motor is currently in a 94 T/A with 89,500 miles on the clock.

This is the aluminum head motor, not the iron head LT1.

Last September we gave the motor a fresh tune up which included brand new GM opti-spark, msd 8.8mm wires, delco platinum plugs. The owner also wanted an electric water pump installed so it is pretty much brand new. The motor has an LT4 cam previously installed as well.

This is the complete motor including accessories, complete harness and the ecm. This is a package deal. I will not seperate anything.

The car will be at the shop next Friday (3/17) and the motor will be out within a week and ready to be picked up.

$1350

I give $2800 for motor/tranny/radiator/fans/accessories and everything to make the auto to T56 swap (minus the Spohn crossmember, $150 bucks)

Sounds like a good deal to me

And go with the T56, it's more sturdy than the T5

While I ran a T-5 for almost 5 years behind my LT1 and beat the living crap out of it, I always felt like I was sitting on a time bomb just waiting to go off. Even though the T-5 works and will hold up behind an easy-driven stock or mildly modified LT1, I would definitely recommend getting the T-56.

LT1 with an electric water pump and a Hot cam? Ouch. Might be a good thing that one got away.

That's not a good deal, that's scary and I would be very afraid of it unless you know the person you are getting it from.

A completely rebuilt T56 will cost you 1700 itself, and MSD still hasn't released the Opti yet, only the cap and rotor, at least according to the MSD guys at Bristol this weekend.

i got an lt1 off of these guys, Cleveland Pick -A- Part (Auto Salvage Yard)
cost me 1700.00 shipped and it came with 4l60e, wiring harness (complete), and computer. i was going to put it in my 94 but it was just too much work and then i traded it for my iroc. those guys deal in late model camaros and such so they've got alot of lt1's and ls1's.

p.s. my lt1 is for sale if anybody is interested, lol

The motor is out a 97' Camaro that I actually drove before. I know for a fact that it has 37K, the guy putting it in is a good friend of my dads, has his own shop and does LT1 and LS1 swaps in everything including thirdgens. He is doing a compression test tommorrow when I head over there, and we are going to start it up. The trans is perfect condition, it has a brand new clutch and throwout bearing. And its coming with a 45,000 mile warranty, but even after that because he is good friends with my dad he will still take care of whatever goes wrong.
