Oil pan change

I can now confirm that teh truck pan is to low for use on an f body.


now what i need to know is. i got an f body pan. i take it bolts right up, is that all i will chnage or will i need a different oil pump pick up?

You shouldn't need a new pickup. If you do, it's only $15 or so at any parts store. If you do replace it, make sure you either weld it to the pump or make a bracket that bolts on so it doesn't work it's self out.

I think he is talking about a lsx motor, the pick up is in the rear and the pump is crank driven. Pick up tube is sealed with an o-ring so there isnt a way to weld it.
