good price for an LT1 ?
i came across a guy selling a 94-95 caprice LT1 motor with wiring harness and ecu, aluminum heads, alternator, ac exh headers. He's never heard it run, so id rebuild it, do you think 400 is a good deal, how much would it run me to rebuild it ? Oh and how much HP is that motor rated for ? Thanks guys !

good deal, those motors came out at 260 for the impala SS but you can replace the cam and tune the comp and get about 280

To do a total rebuild using the same pistons/rods/crank I have a total of about 700 bucks in mine, add another 200 for a timing set and you'll be close.

That was what mine cost parts and labor (since I did all the labor myself except the machine work) I have around 400 in the machine work. Considering the full gasket set runs almost 200 and the rings are 80, bearings are cheaper since they are the same as standard SBC bearings. Timing set is so expensive because of the cam gear.
