Splicing - Vats - All questions
First of all I just want to thanks everyone who answers everyone's questions here. Now for mine. Just put in the 95 LT1 A4 harness into my 82 I have read all the wiring diagrams of what to splice etc. Fire to injectors to PCM etc I have run my own fuel pump hot wire totaly bypassing the lt1 harness. I have not reprogramed the PCM. I have 12v ign to inj. f.pump h2o pump. 1 wire to PCM I think b15 or 31 can't remember that is to bat. spliced off the C100/C230 plugs to ign 12v. IT WON'T EVEN SPUTTER IT JUST CRANKS. now I'm not to frustrated I've just got 3 grand in the motor alone, done all this wiring and no progress. Next question probably a stupid one. Does all the vaccum ports onthe intake need to be pluged to even crank, and does the vats have anything to do with the Dist/coil/Control Module. And If I still cen't get it to work Hopefully a Painless kit will work. THanks

There are actually two wires for PCM power. an orange wire in the C100 LT1 harness pin D, a pink wire in the blue C230 plug pin G, orange is constant hot, pink is switched hot. VATS is only for the fuel pump. Three wires in the C100 that is injector one for the ignition pin A and pin K for injectors (I had to re-pin my '95) and pin G for the ignition. You may be pulling too much power having the fuel pump, water pump and ignition all hooked to one fuse. This thread may help out
