LS1 conversion, springs and gauges

I tried a search, but I didn't find what I was looking for.

What springs are you guys using after istalling an LSX engine? I don't want the coil overs, but it would be nice to have a progressive rate spring. Will an aftermarket 3rd Gen lowering spring be good enough? I'm only looking for about a 1" drop from stock.

Are all of you guys using the stock gauges? I'd like to use Autometer gauges, so I need the electric ones, right?

Thanks.

I put some 1 inch lowering springs on mine. The front is a bit low for my taste, but I guess I'll live with it.

What brand did you use? Also, did it actually drop it one inch or less? I'm just wondering if you get the same drop with the weight of the LSX versus the old block.

Thanks.

Stock (cant find a decent picture)

I used Eibach Sportlines
Lowers vehicle approx. 1.6"front/1.3"rear Drop
When it was stock with the L98, the front was actually a little higher than the back, now it is obviously more raked because the front dropped so much. Had I stuck with my stock springs the car would have been about an inch taller, make the front look even more out of place. Since I havnt been able to drive my car yet, I dont know if the rear will set down more than it is now to level out...

Thanks for the info and pics, I was thinking about getting the Eibach progressive rate springs.

I was hoping someone made springs to account for the different weight of the LS engines, but I guess not.
