LT1 Wiring help needed. *Please Look*

I have a 91' Camaro with a 305 TPI in it and 700R4. I have a about 10 wires to that need spliced to get everything running right. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for a 91 z28?

Can anyone tell me what T.C.C Power stands for and where does it need to be connected to?

Can I connect the oil pressure, tach, VSS, coolant temp wires right to the instrumental panel/cluster?

How did you guy/gals wire up the relays for the fuel pump and fans?

Where does the P.N.P Signal need to be connected to?

Thanks,
Jay

t.c.c. = torque convertor clutch, i think it gets wired to the brake switch. Its for the torque convertor.

You can hook up the oil pressure, vss, etc. right to the cluster but its easier to wire them up to the bulkhead panel thats underneath the dash rather than pulling out the entire dash. Those wires at the bulkhead that you can splice into are going directly to the cluster anyway.

For fuel pump, you can wire a different couple ways i think. I'm using the LT1 fuel pump relay and having the output wire go to the power wire for the fuel pump.

I used the LT1 underhood fuse box with the fan relays.

Don't know what the PNP signal is.

P.N.P.= park neutral position. This is the switch connected to your shifter. The wires that go from the switch to the PCM can be connected to via the C207 junction(under the passenger side of the dash). This wire is probably Orange with a black stripe and there is probably a wire with the the corresponding color in the c207 connector. This link might help your T.C.C. question. http://shbox.com/1/1995_pcm7.jpg

Thanks for the info guys.

Firebat,

Do you have any pictures of what that bulkhead panel/connector looks like? If so could you email them to me at jag20006@yahoo.com.

Thanks,
Jay

you'll see the bulkhead connector, its where ALL of the wires are going through on the firewall on the driver's side.

Firebat,

I have read that post many times and I am still confused. Everytime I read it I find myself more confused. With that being said, I have a few questions. What all can I remove from my thirdgen when I take the engine out and what needs/must stay? I had my LT1 harness done by LT1350.com and I have new fuel and fan relays that need to be connected. Plus I have these wires that need to be connected.

TCC Power
PNP Signal
V.S.S Out
Coolant Temp
Tach
Oil Pressure
Ignition Power
Starter
Battery Power
S.E.S Light
A/C request (Should Not need to use since I will not have AC)

You stated early I could connect most of these wires threw the bulkhead connector on the driverside under the dash.

So do I just splice these wire into the corresponding wires on the bulkhead?

Where are the stock fan and fuel relays located? Since I have new ones can I just replace the old ones or do they have to be wired in some type of particular manner?

Thanks,
Jay

I wouldn't remove anything until you complete the swap, just in case. What needs to be removed is the engine harness but you will keep some stuff like the a/c wires, so remove it later.

Look at the bulkhead diagrams on the link I posted above. They will have most of those wires. The bulkhead there might not match up exactly with yours but it should be close.

Vss out, tcc, ses light will come from the passenger side, c207 connector.

By splicing, yes. I spilced my wires in a professional manner though. I used 63/37 solder, a soldering iron, and heatshrink tubing. I didn't want any wire coming undone. You probably could crimp the wires, but soldering is better. Plus, those crimps take up a lot more space.

You can lookup general thirdgen wiring schematics by going to thirdgen.org, clicking on tech articles, then clicking on 1985 or 1986 wiring diagrams.

most of these are found at the bulk head under the hood. it is pretty easy once you read the wiring diagrams and figure out what everything is. i woud recomend looking at all the wiring diagrams and figure them out before you mess with anything, and you do need to soder and heat shrink the wires. DO NOT BUTT SPLICE THEM!!!!!!!!!!! look in the quote i edited it with the location of most of the wires
