Turbo 350 LS1
Hey im kind of thinking about doing an LS1 swap, but i just need a few questions answered so i can decide to do this or not. First off, let me explain what i will be doing, i will buy an ls1 port the heads, put a cam in it, and put some good long tubes on it, and put a 150 shot of gas on it, put it in my 91 Camaro and basically be great dependable street/drag racer. In my opionion from what i have seen with other third gen ls1 swaps i think running 6.90s or better is a very easy goal. The problem is my car already has all the suspension(k-member, sphon torque arm, coil overs) bacially ever thing. so the first question is How can i bolt up my th350 to an LS1, and if i do bolt it up can i still use my torque arm? And second the motor swap mount that Hawks Third Gen sell will they bolt up to my k-member, i dont see why they wouldnt but just asking. thanks for the help and if you have any ideas or comment please tell me thanks

Well first of all the th350 will bolt right up to the ls1, there are 6 bolt holes in the trans but the ls1 is only threaded for 5. No big deal as 5 will hold it just fine.
If you are using a th350 torque converter you will need this adapter from summit http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku . I used it an it worked awsome, you can also get a torque converter made for a th350/ls1 combo which you would not need this spacer.
for the torque arm you can either get an aftermarket one that bolts to the crossmember like spohn's http://www.spohn.net/product.cfm?productid=1303 or get the relocation kit for the th350 from summit http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
The swap motor mounts will bolt to the kmember and are actually made by spohn also.
As for going 6.90's i think that is completely reasonable. I currently will be in the high 10's with a cam only ls1 with a th400 and 9" with 4.11's. With a 150 shot i should be somewhere in the mid to high 9's. 6.90's should be about 10.70's in the quarter so with 8th mile gearing you could probably hit 6.90's on motor alone.
Hope this helps, Tim
