3rd Gen Fuel Pump Rating?
Anyone know what the fuel pump on a 3rd Gen is rated for (LPH)?
Have LS1 in 88 GTA and now wanting to put a small dry shot on it. Wondering if the original stock fuel pump can keep up with a little more or if it's time for a change.
Logging the injectors now they never exceed 76% duty cycle at WOT.
Thanks!

Re: 3rd Gen Fuel Pump Rating?
I know others use the pump with success and so far I have yet to see anyone spray an LS1 using the stock third gen fuel pump. Maybe its been done but I haven't seen it. Its certainly not the norm
A new stock LS1 pump can support up to 500 rwhp safely so head cam motor with a 100 shot is fine. Your using an ancient pump not rated for much and although it might work is it worth the gamble to you to cook your motor? I've seen stock LS1 pumps go for 20 bucks on LS1tech. If you have the coin for N2O then I would recommend you upgrade the pump too.
Might work yes but if it doesn't its an awful big risk IMO so good luck. Let us know how she blows.... I mean goes

i would NOT reccomend it...
drop a walbro in there ($100, for a boltin) and then i would happily reccomend upto a 150 wet shot... or a 100 dry one thats carefully monitored.

Walbro is installed. Was just wishfull thinking that I could get by without doing it. Really wasn't all that bad, just took a little time. I would say that anyone that's done it w/out help is a better man than me
Wrestling the tank back in was the fun part.

----------
i got curious.
according to the us department of energy:
1 gallon of gasoline equals 5.8 to 6.5 lbs.
so our 16 gallon tank could weigh 92 - 104 lbs.. plus the weight of the empty tank...

Man that took a long time... and it was my own post.

Stock pump is 150lph, +/-. Sorry I was late to the party though. Sounds like a 100 shot would have resulted in meltdown or real close.

Running your injectors much past 80% isn't a good idea either. You start to loose control at that point as the injectors are off so little that they tend to get erratic. Anything past 90% is much like valve float.....not good when you are trying not to melt pistons.
