lsx v. 383

So after long diliberting i've decided i sorta want to ditch the 383 afr superram setup and go with a lsx base motor with a single turbo. i was thinking like a 5.3 with a cam and ls1 intake and a 76mm turbo intercooled. im just wondering if anyones gone turbo on a lsx motor how bad was making piping, and such. i also was gonna use a 98 ls1 harness and pcm from a auto car to make it all go. i was thinking that the lsx turbo would allow the car to go mid-low 11's and still remain driveable, as apposed to a high compression big cam 383 were brakes (vaccum) and idling and such would become a issue. what do you guys think ?

No replacement for displacement, there are plenty of 5.7 and 6.0 liter LSx blocks out there. Sounds much more streetable like you say, as opposed to a big cam motor. LSx does love boost.

only thing is they dumped some major coinage on it. I read the basic read up and it was crazy.

Re: lsx v. 383

If mid to low 11 is all your after stay N/A LS1 you can hit that and still be very driveable with decent head cam package. Heck drop a stock bottom end 6.0L in there with the L92 head swap with decent cam and run 10's streetable N/A
