Couple of "harness source" questions

First off, I DID review the sticky at the top of the page, & also tried a couple of basic searches, but they didn't seem to return anything that addressed the two questions I have...

First off, I'm planning a 6.0 swap into my GTA, & I already have the heads & L76 intake (with injectors), although I don't have the engine or tranny yet. Trying to keep it as a fairly low-budget build, which rules out the pre-made harness option. Is there any reason why I shouldn't use the engine harness from the donor truck/van? (Or any reason why that would be "less than optimal"?) AFAIK, it should have the correct connectors/clips for the injectors...

Second, is there a preferred vehicle to get the donor harness from? I know that most people try to get the engine harness from an LSx F-body, but is that just because the lengths/sizes are closest to being correct, or is there some functional reason??

Thanks for any info guys...

Re: Couple of "harness source" questions

The f-body harness is an engine harness, it unplugs from the other harness in the car where afaik the truck/van harness is all one piece like the old TPI harness.
