TPI won't work on an LT1, are you referring to the intake manifold by chance?

Re: 305 TPI swap for 383 stroker
does it not have an intake on it now? It would probably be easier to run it with the lt1 intake setup on it.. what all do you have?

Re: looking for a COMPLETE LT TPI SET UP
first off is your car tpi or tbi right now. if its tbi you can get a carb intake and a tbi adapter (best choice) second if its tpi you can make a distributer fit in the back of an lt intake, but ether way you wont get the most out of the tuning capability's of converting the wiring harness

Sorry if this is confusing, but the originator was posting about this in other threads. I tried to get them all consolidated into this one, but it came out weird.

TPI can work on LT1, I guess you guys just havent seen the Accel baseplate. It was designed for using the superram on an LT1, but technically since the superram plenum and runners can be swapped onto a stock TPI baseplate, you should be able to install a TPI on an LT1 using the baseplate

The lingo can be confusing. "TPI" here refers to a specific induction system used on 3rd gen V8's from 1985-1992.
LT1 induction is it's own set-up. It was used in Vettes from 1992-1996, and in f-bodies (4th gen) from 1993-1997. Just to confuse things, Vettes also had an "LT4" configuration, but let's not get into that right yet. The LT1 with some slight variations was also used in full-size sedans like Caprice and Road Master.
You need more than the intake manifold. You need the complete injection system, PCM (powertrain control module), harnesses, and sensors. There were changes made over the years, so if you don't get a complete system from one car, you need to know what you're getting.
The sad part is the engine is the least of it. You can buy a complete used LT1 engine, transmission, PCM, and harness ready to install for about $1200. A used engine will go for a couple hundred bucks. So, having what you've got isn't a big advantage. However, search on-line resources such as eBay, craigslist, racingjunk, and see what comes up for you.
And, let's move this to the subforum. You've got two threads going now, I'd combine them but it wouldn't track well.

might be an easy way to get an ltx in a car with out the wiring mods saying the distributer hole is in the rear
