I dropped if off at the exhaust shop Wednesday in hopes he could fit it in between other jobs to get exhaust installed by mid-week next week. Today he told me it just isn't going to happen (one tech didn't show up for work Thursday, one project on one of the lifts is waiting for parts, another on the other lift was supposed to be worked by the missing tech, etc., etc., etc.). So, the new date for exhaust is May 10th-12th.
So, I'm going to get the trailer and go pick it back up. But, I won't be able to drive it around like I had planned for the next week, and the first Stick Shift race is Sunday after next, April 25th.
One thing I could do is haul it out to the track on a couple of the test & tune dates coming up and drive it around there - wouldn't have to go down the track necessarily, but drive around the pits, return road, parking lot, etc.
Or, should I just give up on the thought of getting into the first race, and wait until the May 22nd race? Thing is, for season points, missing a race is very hard to make up, and if I qualify for the Div V regional race, I'll miss the final season race, anyway. Missing two races is almost impossible to make up (unless you completely dominate the class and the others cooperate and take turns losing to each other).
What do race-only clutch cars do when a new clutch is installed?
