VATS question.

I was just wondering im doing an lt1 swap and im Kind of curious about the vats system. I would like to keep it if it would be possible. I'm doing the swap on a 92 so my car already has it. My question is does the lt1 computer actually read the keys resistance or is there a "box" that does and then sends a "OK" signal to the computer to allow it to run. anyhelp would be awsome. thanx.

Re: VATS question.

There is a Vats box. The vats box reads the resistance on the key. Your 92 key will only work if it is the resistance that the box is looking for. Got something like a 1 in 16 chance of your key working.

The vats box sends a signal to the LT1 pcm.
