Planning an LS-x swap and getting overwhelmed HELP

So i've been reading everything i can for the last thread days and my head is spinning...

I want a 6.0 iron block t-56 combo.

I know i will need to do something about headers ( prolly mod my hookers )

I know the motor mounts need to be modded.

I know i will need a t56 xmember and TQ arm solution.

I will prolly run my motor with the Megasquirt. although using the GM ECU is considered due to how powerful ive been reading it is.

I have a walbro 255 from a Turbo RX-7 in my tank now supplying 45psi. Is this enough?

What accessories and oilpan should i look for. I'm assuming F-Body? I wont be running a/c so i wont be notching my K-Member.

Is that most of what i need to know? I'll prolly be dropping the motor in from the top because i did an LT-1 R&R at work from the bottom once and had a hell of a time lining the k-member back up... that was on a 4th gen.

plus i dont wanna mess with my suspension

alot of this info is floating around on the website. but a couple places you should start picking up info at are spohn.net and the sticky on the ltx-lsx board.

spohn sells t56 crossmember / torque arm / ls1 motor mounts / anything else suspension you could want for third gen suspension =D

stock manifolds will clear our firewalls and are a cheap solution to get on the road fast.

walbro 255l is plenty of fuel for a bolt on ls1. fuel regulator needs to be somewhere in the area of 50-60 psi. I believe it is 51psi for a stock situation.

I'm a big fan of the gm ecu when it comes to ls1. I have people ask me all the time in town at meets "why not go carb" or "why not go with a simpler efi system". I say to them "because thats part of what makes an ls1 an ls1. If I wanted something carbed, i'd have a gen 1 sbc, If i wanted something with basic efi, i'd have a gen 1 with megasquirt" lol. Theres tons of diagrams and information on the GM ECM on ls1tech.com in the conversions & hybrids section. if you have a full wiring harness and computer setup, its a 5 wire hookup.

oil pan is f-body. accessories f-body to make it easier.

I did the whole power train from above with a motor hoist with the hood off with no real problems.

hope this helps

No sense in using the megasquirt, that would just be extra work for you - the stock ECM should work just fine...

Yeah, it should be. Stock fuel pressure is 61 psi.

If you aren't doing AC, the Trans-Dapt adapter plates, summitracing.com p/n TRD-4572, are the simplest thing out there for the front mounts. You'll still have to do something about the trans crossmember, the Skulte was my choice.

I'm in the middle of an LS1/T56 swap, and I'm overwhelmed (lacking time to work on it more than anything else).
