LT1 Oil filter mount vs L98. Anyone know?

Guys,

Need help from an LT1 swap pro. I need to use an LT1 oil filter adapter on my SBC motor due to needing to use a metric filter (long story, trust me).

Are the mount PADS as cast in and tapped on the blocks the same? Can I just remove my oil filter adapter, and screw on the LT1 adapter ?

I'm a little worried. I have a back up plan if this does not work, but I'd really like to be able to just use the LT1 part.

I imagine some of you guys unbolted the LT1 mount and put a SBC mount so you can run a fram PH5 or big filter or whatever, but I couldn't find any definitive answers while searching.

Thanks!

I'm using a big filter on my LT1 and it still has the LT1 adapter, there isn't any special filter for an LT1 vs a regular SBC

The LT1 is a PF454, but I'm using the longer filter on mine, don't remember the part number but it is longer.

I went on Autozone just to check the part numbers for the adapter, the Melling part number for the LT1 is MFA350

The part number for an L98 is MFA350

Must be a corvette only thing than. The Corvette takes a metric filter and uses an offset adapter to clear the exhaust.. ugg.

Thanks though.

edit: jason at vette2vette screwed one on a L98 block for me, so Looks like I'll be good to go.

Here is why I need it for the curious.

Would that be the same adapter used on Z71s to clear the front driveshaft? If so, it should bolt right on. The 88-98(?) Chevy trucks used traditional smallblocks.

Z71 uses a weird adapter that puts the filter straight out to clear the front shaft. I had one until a few months ago.

In fact, I've owned 6 chevy trucks in my life. What absolute pieces of crap. I've owned 'em as old as a '84, and as new as a '98. All junk. I'm a dodge man now.

The last one I worked on was a 95 and it had the same type adapter you posted. It used a PF52 filter. Glad you figured it out.
