Had a qusetion to throw out there. I have an idea of what I'm going to do, but I always like to hear other opinions. I have a LS1(364cc) out of Chevy Pick-Up. I've stripped it down to the block. I'm debating rebuilding the engine and putting in a '84 Camaro that's currently running a 350. Does anyone have any recommendations for a cam, heads, and intake for this block? And ofcourse I plan on making it carburated.

ive read on the boards here that there are LS1's in trucks...if I remember correctly they are cast iron blocks though not aluminum like the ones in vettes, maro's, gto's..etc etc....

Re: LS1
I ran the block ID and it also came back as a LS1. I'll check it again, but either way, it will be for street strip.

Welcome to thirdgen.org.

We have a forum for engine swap topics, and a sub-forum there for LSx topics (the LQ4 is in the LS family of engines). Moving this there.

Re: LS1
l92 heads and a XFI cam.

Although why you want to waste a nice FI setup and go to carb is beyond me

Re: LS1
Second the L92 heads they cant be beat even CLOSE to beat for the money. Intake I'd go with the Edelbrock super Victor with a 950 demon and as big A cam as your teeth can handle with all the complimenting bolt ons and you should run low tens and ironically you'll probably still get decent mileage out of it.

First things first start by reading this;
