Overall swap wiring...

I see all questions about wiring the LT1 engine harness and what not but I do not see any discussion as far as wiring all other electrical stuff for this swap... interior, exterior lights, dash, etc... is all this part of the harness somewhere?

I am putting in an LT1 in my 92z and am scared to start tearing out all the wiring and not be able to hook everything back up

I am knowledgeable and am a Mechanical Engineer by profession so I know I can do it but how do I deal with the fuse box I have now? and wiring everything else up? Or does it stay as is and just connect the 94 harness in somewhere? If that makes sense...

All you are going to use unless you are doing a dash swap along with it is the harness off the LT1. Most of the wires are going to hook up near the brake booster (c-100) Then some under the dash pass side. Then you are going to have to trace wires like the SES light off the LT1 harness on to the c-100 and hoop it up.The body harnes is diffirend but you should not have to mess with it.

Re: Overall swap wiring...

You will not have to touch your interior or exterior lights. All the stuff for your gauges to work are in the c100(bulkhead connector). It's on the firewall next to the brake booster. Find a diagram for those wires and label them. You can unplug that part of the harness from the car. Then find a diagram for the Clear c207 connector under your dash. label those wires. Unplug the wires from your comp. and pull them back out through the fender. Your entire engine harness should be free now. Check out lt1swap.com and the lt1 wiring for dummies thread. Those should have all the diagrams you need. I just left my fuse box alone and used the underhood fuse box that came with my lt1 harness to power all the engine stuff.

Re: Overall swap wiring...

as said above my swap (91z, pretty sure its wired the same as yours) everything wired into the bulkhead connector, and the only thing that i had to wire into the under dash connector, c207, was the vss wire. Im not a mechanical engineer or an electician and i didnt have any trouble with this swap, just take your time and read the pinouts and you will be fine.
