LS2- CARB swap-W/out wiring

I just picked up a 05 GTO 6.0 motor for nothing. Had a rod knocking, so im going to rebuild it.
I picked it up with no intake or heads, so what im wondering is after i get a set of factory or maybe slightly ported heads. If i can put a carbed intake on it (ive seen several) to just throw it in like that. How much wiring is involved and would i still need a CPU for that model motor. I read something about using a ford dissy or something a while back, just not for sure what it was.
If anyone understands what im trying to do, please chime in. can i make it simple as a normal old chev motor.

I have a hunch that you will find that free block will cost you more in the long run that a take out engine will. AFAIK you will need to use the stock coil near plug setup of the LS engines. Edelbrock makes a kit that comes with a carb intake and a (I believe msd built) controller that runs the ignition. You will need a harness though, I dont think the kits come with one (at least they didnt when I looked at them). I would imagine that by the time you spend the money on rebuilding the shortblock, buying heads, a harness, coils, the intake kit, carb, and necessary sensors, you may find that you were money ahead buying a takeout. All this really is speculation though, depending on what you have in your garage already laying around and what you can source parts for at your local yards.

I do know people with good discounts. Im going to keep looking for a kit but if you find one could you redirect me. I figured that i would need to use factory coil setup i just wondered if there was an aftermarket setup kinda like a distributor to make it run. I dont completely understand alll about these motors, i just wanted to carb it and throw it in. Plus with carb i wouldnt need a to run new fuel lines and a new fuel pump and all.

This isnt a weekend thing, i planned on it takin several months to build. I just need info and all.

You'd probably be better off getting a complete LSx engine/harness/PCM and put your rebuilt LS2 shortblock under it.
