Whats the differences in the (93-94) LT1 starters to the (95-97) LT1 starters??? and why do they have two diffrent part numbers? is there a difference in wiring or something? because im replacing the one thats currently on my gen1 block and i belive the one thats on there i got off a 94 LT1, iv seen the (95-97) LT1 starters are a bit cheaper is there a reason? would either one matter?

I dont have a response but I do have an additional question that may help you and others as well...

I have a 94 LT1 with a 95 style cam/opti and am running a 97 T56/flywheel

which starter would you use? which high torque mini starter is the best? Can any be interchanged with the different years?

I have a 97 brand new lt1 starter which won't work with my new motor combo and it will work on all year lt1s. I looked into the online catalog and my part number is listed 93-97 which will also work on all 153 tooth older sbc as well. I paid 160, and would take 100 shipped if any of you were interested. I started the old motor probably 10 times total and the unit looks brand new. It's a bosch starter.

Re: Whats the differences in (93-94) & (95-97) LT1 starters???

So i pulled my intermint starter of my engine tonight its a reman OEM No: 9000773 stater i looked it up and it says

PG260M Series Starter for Delco
1.7 kW, 12 Volt, CW Rotation
Design: PMGR (Permanent Magnet Gear Reduction)
Drive Teeth: 11
SERIES:FOR DELCO PG200/250/260M
LESTER NO: 6442
WAI No: 2-1481-DR
OEM No: 9000773

I'm pretty sure this is a b-body starter, it worked on my 305 with the stock flywheel and starter bolts and i didn't have to shim anything. . . what f-body starters can i use thats going to work then??

I posted the answer right above your question, any 93-97 lt1 starter should work no problem. I asked for a 95 camaro, but the catalog only shows one starter for all these years. Hope this helps, and if you'd like mine before it hits ebay let me know.
