LT1:auto to manual tranny=> Chip programming
Hello!
Sorry, my car is not a Third Gen, it's a First Gen, but with a similar setup discussed in this forum and I'm having a serious problem.
I'm changing over from a 92`Corvette LT1 with 4L60 in a 69' Camaro to a 94' BW 6 speed M/T.
I'm doing the installation now and today I installed the reprogrammed chip and it didn't work! I started the engine and got an idle speed at 2000 rpm. After some investigation I pulled the connector from the vss, because this was the only changed sensor, and the rpm dropped to 900 rpm!
I didn't installed the drive shaft yet so the tranny output shaft (which now has some revs although the gear box is in neutral so the vss detects a speed and I think this is the problem.
A buddy of mine did the reprogramming but only checked and eliminated the signals from the auto tranny to the ecm. In the basics it's the software for an automatic.
Should we use a basic programming for an original manual tranny car?
Because for our understanding normally for a manual transmission there is no need for the vss signal, but now there's an influence.

If you install a driveshaft and there is no output from the speed sensor does is operate normal. I think the IAC opens up A little off idle so it dosen't stall when the throtle gets closed. I could be wrong and have no experiance programing anything.

What do you mean by CHIP? The LT1 computer needs to be reprogrammed thru tuner cat, lt1 edit etc so that the computer has all of the automatic features turned off, and checkmarked as a 6 speed/manual car.
