Motor Mounts?

I'm putting a 94 Lt1 into a 83 trans am, which motor mounts would work. the motor mounts off the 94, or can I stick with the motor mounts for the 83.

Re: Motor Mounts?

Better to use the '83 mounts, with poly inserts from Energy Suspension

Re: Motor Mounts?

I just did this swap on my 85 Z28. Use the third gen mounts but while you are there upgrade to the poly inserts. I went with solid mounts and it may be a little rough for alot of street use.

Re: Motor Mounts?

I run solid mounts, but my engines are balanced to within one gram. GM engines are nowhere near smooth enough. Using solid mounts requires using LocTite on every fastener of everything attached to the engine. Do NOT try solid trans mount.

^^ def go that route. solid mounts are gonna shake ur car apart (not literally). I have a mildly built LTx motor in my car and you should see the amount of engine torque while its idleing, i could only imagine what that would feel like with solid mounts.

No need for "swap" mounts with an LT1.
