oil gauge lt1?
I've got the gauge connected right. Tan wire from bulkhead connector to the solid tan wire in the lt1 harness. When you start the car the gauge just goes to 60 and stays there. Turn it off and it goes back to 0. I unplugged the oil pressure switch last night and the gauge still would sit at 60 with the car running. I believe it has to be a bad ground now. Where would I start looking for a short in the ground?

When the key is in the run position but the engine is off does the gauge still read 60 psi? Have you checked the actual pressure with a manual gauge? I am not sure if there is a difference in the 4th gen and 3rd gen sending units but I am running a 3rd gen sending unit and mine reads correctly. You may just need to swap senders.

With the key in run the gauge reads 0. Have not hooked the mech. gauge up yet. With the engine running the gauge is maxed out. When you unplug the connector from the pressure switch the gauge is still maxed out.

When you unhook that wire it should max the gauge. When you jumper that wire to ground it should read 0 psi. With the key in the run position the sender has very low resistance. I would check the actual oil pressure and and make sure you have the correct sender for the cars gauge. It does not sound like there is a wiring issue though.

Re: oil gauge lt1?
After checking the part numbers the guy at the parts store gave me the wrong sending unit. I got the one for the light instead of gauge. That should fix my problem when I get the right sending unit.
