ls1 swap oil pressure gauge ?????

I was wondering if the factory 6.0/LSX oil pressure sensor will be accurate with the factory 0-60 gauge on a 91 Z. I've heard of people saying its accurate with the 0-80 gauge but not sure about mine. I have an adapter to use the original sensor but I think it would look cleaner to use the LSX one. If you have any experience with this let me know please. Thanks

from what i've read, the factory guage will work with the ls1 sensor. most ls motors run 40-80 psi so part of the time your guage is going to be maxed out, but its not really that big of a deal.

can anyone who has done it verify that the ls1 sender will work? i read that it'll show near 0 on the gauge, and that you had to place the original 3rd gen sender into the ls block to get it to read. i'm looking for where i read that now.

You can mount the 3rd gen sensor on the piece just above the oil filter. Might have to use an adapter, depending upon what your original was like. I'm using a mechanical gauge, as you might notice from the pic.

Mine's been working fine since 2004. Factory '01 LS1 sending unit, factory '82 oil pressure gauge.

Just connect the tan wire (I forget the circuit ID#) on the LS1 harness to the tan wire (I forgot that circuit ID too) on either C207 or C100 (location varies on thirdgens) and you're in business.
