Some LT1 questions
alright i don't know much about LT1s but,
are the LT1 blocks the same as any other 350 block?
and if they are the same, presumably i could build an LT1 out of any 350 block?
and last, is it possible to have a carbed LT1?

No. Reverse cooling, cam-driven water pump - very different. The crank is the same as one-piece RMS 350, rods and pistons will interchange, cams can be used (LTx requires a long cam sprocket pin), but that's about it.
Since they aren't the same, no. But, the Vortec heads are very similar with regard to chamber shape and port flow.
Yes, but in my personal opinion, might as well build a Gen I SBC with Vortec heads.

There are many 383 LT1's out there. A very potent combination. But, it doesn't make sense unless you're starting with an LT1.
A 383 with Vortec-style heads would be a good runner.
