LS1 block questions

Car: 1989 Pontic Trans Am GTA
Engine: old 350TPI/new LS1
Transmission: old 700R4/new 4L60E
Axle/Gears: 3.27 stock
LS1 block questions
is there any difference between a 98 LS1 block and a 2003 LS1 block..also will the heads inner change between the two.. my 98 block a blown, so I was just going to change everything over to the 2003 block, if everything fits..hopefully it does..

one more quick question..I know that I'll have to get new head bolts but what about the mains...are they also torque to yeild bolts as well..

what are you gettin the ls1 out of for a 2003. i know that a camaro and trans am were snubbed after 2002. it could be coming out of a vette or a gto.
according to my tattle tale book-
rear cover oil passage better-bulkhead vent windows-was converted to all short head bolts-cam bearing pearent bores to 50mm instead of 25mm. this is for the 2003
heads should bolt on. the thing about all ls1 bolts. i like to explain them as an m&m. they are hard on the outside and soft in the center. if you want to do it right. replace all bolts from heads and mains. arp would be a really good investment right about now. i have reused rocker arm dolts and outer engine bolts. but never the head and mains.

yeah the block is comming out of a vette..but everything should mount up right...there shouldn't be any big differences right??
