? about truck manifolds flipped

what part/parts dont gen III truck manifolds clear? does the passenger side fit and the drivers side hit the steering box? or is there other points of interferance???
(talking about flipping them around pointing towards the front for turbo use like 98-02 cars do..)

if the steering is the only part they dont clear id like to do rack and pinion and use these manifolds...
if anyones got pics showing where/what they dont clear thatd be extremely helpful!
thanks, Keith

If I didn't have headers mounted already, I'd mock up my LQ4 manifolds for you.

They do kick out a good bit and down.

Re: ? about truck manifolds flipped

If I had a pair, I could try this tomorrow. Seriously. I'm doing it the other way, rear-turbo, for emissions legality. The turbo is more of a restriction than the exhaust manifolds, so I'm using the '00 Z28 exhaust manifolds turned normally, into a not-yet-fabricated custom Y-pipe, into a 3" cat in the LG4-cat-location, then 3" over the exle, then the turbo in place of the muffler. This has been patented by STS, but they're overpriced, so I'm doing my own. That's legal, I just can't sell my copy because of the patent. By not putting the turbo between the manifolds and the cat, I stay 50-state legal.

Well, if you're ever up this way within the next couple of weeks or so, you could drop 'em by here & I could mock 'em up for pics...
