Swap LS6 into 90 3.1L or 91 5.7 TPI??

OK I just got a 1990 Firebird with 19K original miles on it. I was going to swap the LS6 into my 91 Formula...would it be worth it to leave the Formula alone and swap the LS6 into the 1990...and replace the 3.1 liter engine?

Is the L98 Formula in good shape, runs great and everything? If so, I would probably leave it alone, or sell it to make money for the swap in the other car. The Formula would be worth a good amount of money if you were to sell it and it were in good shape because it's a pretty rare car. That's just my $0.02 though.

Yeah the formula is an all option car (WS6 etc.) and it has a little over 50K original miles on it....I have put on 30K miles over the last year driving it. Car is perfect except for the stupid azz automatic antenna which broke the same way my 87 IROC did 19 years ago.

I hate those automatic antennas..because when they break they just sit there and run in place...on the 1991 I had to pull the passenger side lower dash panel to pull the fuse...stupid stuff. OK rant off.

I didn't know the Formula's were so rare...I probably won't screw with it now. Maybe I will save the LS6 swap for the 3.1L

Formulas in themselves aren't that rare but TPI Formulas are. Especially L98 versions.

Plus if you do the V-6 car the insurance will be much lower.

My insurance agent told me that on my 91 5.7 TPI car that the rate got bumped three times over that of the V-6 car just because of what it was. Once for being a V-8, again because it was a Z/28 and again for being a 5.7 liter engine.
