Not sure exactly what you mean there.

First, check the LS1 swap sticky in the top section of this forum (I moved this to the LSX and LTX engine swap sub-forum) for the basics of the LS1 swap.

You will need to go through the California "motor change" process. They will take the information about your engine (year, model, etc.) and determine what emissions equipment you need, then inspect your car for the installation and operation of that equipment. If that is satisfactory, they'll give you a new barcode and bless you until your next required test/inspection. After that, you can take it to a "regular" test station.

You will need all of the equipment that was installed from the factory in the car the engine is to have come from. That will include the computer, catalytic converters, EGR & A.I.R. systems, evap system (part of the fuel tank and engine), sensors (O2 et al), and even the OBD II connector. You can use aftermarket parts if they are C.A.R.B. certified.

Cost is a crap shoot. First, you need the parts from a donor car. If you aren't going to be doing the installation yourself, a shop is going to charge an arm and a leg to do this custom work - probably more than a 4th gen would cost you.

Five7kid, Im very impressed by your patience writing all this and informing this guy about what has been covered a billion times. I feel that if someone isnt even willing to search a bit on its own, hes not ready for this swap. Hats off to you sir :chug:

He makes a good point guys, his original post didn't ask anything at all. Just stated that he needed to know everything.

When I read it, I just shook my head in agreement and moved on.
