How to wire 88-92 firebird gauges directly
Help me get some good info in this thread. Instead of wiring in to were we are for the guages can we wire directly to the back of the guage without the circuit board. I don't see why not, so help me line out what goes where.
In the pic is the tach(left when looking at the pic) speedometer on the right.
Each has 3 connections. I labeled what the circuit board is printed with, with the same letters in red.
E is ground
IG is power
- is the tach wire.
S is VSS

What is there to gain by going directly on the cluster board itself? I made my gauge connections at the connector where the cluster plugs into.Didnt mess with the cluster at all and I can always put it back to factory.I have a few clusters and have swapped them in and out within mins.
