What are the required/minimum circuits for a LSx swap?

I am putting a 6.0L with MP T-76 in a 89 RS Camaro. I have a complete 02 Camaro harness that I have gone thru and labeled every circuit. I have read which wires require 12v to get the engine to run and I feel pretty confident that I have that part under control. My question is which circuits do I need to keep because some of the circuits that I have identified I don't know what they do. When I search I don't find what I'm looking for because I don't see them listed that way in any of the threads. Some will list them as optional but I just wondered if I would be loosing anything by opting not to use them.

The car had a 454 BBC in it when I got it so it is kind of like putting this engine into an old hot rod because so much had already been removed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Without knowing which circuits or plug ends you are referring to, I dont think you'll get much help. The wiring for the LS1 has been detailed fairly well between this site and LS1tech. So if you cant find what you need between those two, AND a good wiring schematic (you have good wiring schematics right..they're a BIG help), then post up pics of the wire ends or try to be a little more detailed...and we'll get you straightened out.

I will say...there isnt much in the engine harness that you can cut out. Especially if you are using the factory fuel injection set up. You can delete things like EVAP, EGR (unless its an 01-02), AIR, A/C, etc. But all the rest have a purpose. Make sure all the pinks are getting switched 12v AND 12v when cranking. Thats important. Pretty simple engine harness for how techy the motor is.

Pockets got you covered in this game, he seems to really know his stuff, and Ive heard nothing but good about him. These are some of the ones that Ive compiled into my wiring bible on my computer:

Those are definatley good links. Either way, I don't think anybody should attempt such a thing without a shop manual. And I don't mean a Haynes manual either. A true GM shop manual is priceless when doing this stuff. It is one of the best investments I have ever made, whic is why I have a set for each of my cars.
