Okay i just got my engine in and i bought motor moutn adapters and had to cut the mounts off the K-member and wels solid mounts in.
Anyways I had to set the engine back 1 inch from the factory (according the the swap plates) Just so it would mount up with the TH400.
Basically once I got the mounts welded in I have about 1/2 inch clearence on the driver side head.
Is this normal when using a TH400 or 700r4 in the stock location?
I didnt wanna have to get another driveshaft made since my was basically new and i have already shortened it and have 600 into it.

Yes its tighter to the firewall than a SBC. For that reason I recommend installing the harness before putting it in the car or atleast the trans and rear cyl head ground wiring
