Re: quick lt1 question

You need the OBD1 software, and pick the plug for which style you are using, the OBD2 plug or the OBD1 plug. I'm using the OBD1 plug in my car, so I chose that plug for my kit.

Re: quick lt1 question

Easier to add an OBDI ALDL than to add the OBDII ALDL and then have to make a special cable for it. Not like ALDLs are overly complicated

well to my understanding, and i may be wrong, but some late model 95's have obd2 connectors but run obd1 software. i believe my situation fits under this guideline

Re: quick lt1 question

Correct

Your harness wont come with the ALDL, you must add it

The car will come with an OBDII ALDL, just add a OBDI piece or use the existing one under your dash

Re: quick lt1 question

here is an update for anyone who googles thru here in the future with the same question. 1991-1996 buick roadmasters should all be 12 pin obd1 connectors with obd1 software. I thought they switched to 16 pins in 95 but from my research it did not happen with buick roadmasters

Re: quick lt1 question

It really doesnt matter. The ALDL is not part of the engine harness. You must add it later. For OBDI swaps its pretty easy, connect two wires to the stock ALDL through the C207
