Ok well i finally picked up my 5.3 engine the other day.
But what I need to know is if the engine still has the wiring harness with it do need to splice into the original TBI wiring harnesss. I know i need to for the starting and charging system, but I was thinking as far as managing the engine just install the truck ECU for the engine and use manuel gauages for temp, oil pressure, etc. What is the absolute best way to approach the the wiring?

What year is the 5.3 and PCM. The above uses the super common 99-02 Fbody pinout and diagrams. GEN IV truck engines and DBW only PCMs throw a wrench into the procedure but its still similar

The pcm of the truck is a 99 and the engine as well. I have started with the wiring harness according to the links today. I cut out all thw commons and the 207. What is different with the trucks harness from the f bodies?
Oh and I see your in NC in you don't mind answering what part?
