Hey guys, lookin for a little help, I just got my swap up and running in my 89 gta and the car fires right up and idles mint itl even rev up fine. But as soon as you drive it and put it under a load itl start breaking up badd. I checked it with a tech 2 and it seems to be going way lean like in the double didgets when I get the problem. The car literally falls flat on it's face. I only have long tubes with turndowns right now and a couple ppl have been suggesting back pressure problems because of the lack of exhaust but to me it feels like some kind of sensor issue. I'm going to finish the exhaust hopefully this weekend just to rule that out, but has anyone had a similar problem or any ideas?
Thanks,
mike

Low fuel pressure maybe?

You wouldnt have a wait4me tuned pcm would you?
I got about 58-60 psi even when it dies out. And I re routed the fuel line away from the headers just to rule out any kind of vapor lock problems.
The PCM hasn't been tuned yet, it's mostly stock aside from
the normal removals like egr and air pump etc, it's just got the long
tubes performance wise

i'm not an expert, but it does sound like a fuel issue. checked the injectors? i have heard of them sticking. maybe a seafoam soak for the injectors if they are gummy. dunno, just thinkin out loud.
Definately appretiate the thoughts, I haven't tried playin with the injectors yet but I feel like that would show itself more at top end as well and if you let off and floor it when it starts breaking up itl climb out of
it and pull hard to the top.
it and pull hard to the top.

Check out this thread: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/genera...situation.html
I had a similar situation with mine. turned out to be the pcm.

Spike, thanks for that thread I'm considering the PCM now because I also don't have any codes for this problem, I haven't tried unplugging the coils yet but il try that today. Also I think I'm gonna scope around for a vacuum leak just to rule it out. Thanks again for all the ideas guys
