LS1/T56 swap with a procharger
LS1/T56 swap with a procharger
Does anyone know if I will need to radically change the radiator cradle with the procharger? I am sure that I will, but I haven't seen any info on the subject. I have seen plenty to put a procharger into my wife's Vette though. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Re: LS1/T56 swap with a procharger
You're going to have to find out how far the procharger sticks off the front fo the block. But, the 3rd gen k-member sits back further than the 4th gen. And the radiator support is more vertical than the 4th gen. There's a good bit of room in there, depending how far off the block the blower sits though...
I dont recall anyone having a procharger on an LS1 swapped thirdgen yet. Anything can be made to work though....

Thanks ghetto!! I haven't started on it yet. It is going to be a long process!!!! I am hoping to match my wife's car. As far as performance. BTW, do you know where a man can get a center console for an 86 TA? I have looked at Hawk's and Youngs FBody and they both say it has been discontinued. I have checked junkyards around my house and they are in worse condition than mine.

I had looked into this a couple years ago but, like you, couldn't find much information. I spoke to Bob from Brute Speed (formerly of EPP) and he showed me a setup he put on a Cadillac CTS-V that may also work. I think it may have been a slightly modified version of the GTO kit that puts the head unit near the PS pump. He also had this setup on an LSX RX-7. I think if it would fit on an RX-7, it would most definitley fit on a thirdgen. The Vette kit may also work well. Either way it'll be a tight fit.

I am looking into doing this too, but haven't found very much information on it either. I did find a picture someone posted over on LS1Tech using the universal sbc bracket I believe. The MAF looks awful close to the radiator though...
