lt1 distributor questions
i have a 93 lt1 in my camaro and im converting it to a 96 MAF system. what im wondering is do i have to change distributors or will the 93 work with the 96

Your going from speed density to MAF
The only difference is the way they mount up and one is vented and ones not changing to a 96 distributor is a big job including other parts plus the distributor.

The small extension harness changes between the different optis, but the connector going to the engine harness is the same, so in short no, you dont have to change the opti
Swapping the newer opti onto the 93 will require the newer timing cover and small extension harness. I wouldnt bother unless you absolutely have to, the balancer hub is a bear to remove/install
