First question about my LSX swap.
I'm going with a newer LQ4 motor and want to use my 4L60E I just had redone for my formula last year. The 4l60E is a 95 I know it will bolt up, but is it just the adapter and flexplate I have to use to bolt the converter up? I see people bolting up 700r4's and t350's with this kit. I emailed hawks and they said that only a 4l60e from a newer motor will bolt up. They said the "input shaft" is differant. whatever that means. Thoughts? Also is the 4L's the same length from bellhousing to tip? Just asking if their cross member will be needed.

I'm not sure about the cross member but the input shaft is different. Honestly if it were mine I would sell it and buy a later 4l60e that will bolt up instead of tear yours apart to swap shafts.

Re: First question about my LSX swap.
so the drive shaft would have to be shortened or lenghtened.? I see people bolting up 700R4's and T350's all the time with the flywheel and hub adapter from TCI or advance adapters. thoughts?

I was thinking of going with this. http://advanceadapters.com/product/3741/712500A.html
I saw in the latest Carcraft somebody used a kit from Hugh's that worked.

Its not really a matter of lengthening or shortening the drive shaft, but rather the input shaft has a different spline I believe is what BlueZee is saying. (correct me if I'm wrong here Blue)

With a 700R4 or 4L60E you can use th stock drive shaft. I don't think it would work with a TH350 though, you would need a different length.
And yea, the driveshaft has nothing to do with why the older 4L60E won't work with the block.

I'll see what happens. Trans and converter ran me 2K last year. Hate to get rid of them with only 400 miles on it. So the adapter kit wont work then?

Use the standard crank adapter that retrofits older auto transmissions on to it. If your LQ4 is 99-00 you dont have to worry about this
The input shaft is shorter on older transmissions so dont confuse them. The adapter is simply a bushing to accept the converter snub to keep it centered
95+ 4L60Es all use the same electronics so you wire it in the same
