LT1 Fuel Rail Modifications
I am prepping my fuel rails to run in parallel by removing the cross-over pipe and welding on AN fittings to each end similar to the GM High Tech Performance article:
http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...use/index.html
One problem though, this article doesn't go into running a parallel setup and show how to mount the fuel rails. If you try to do the parallel setup the AN fittings will not work towards the front of the LT1 intake as the fittings hit a part of the intake on both sides.
Has anyone tried this? I am thinking of keeping the frontward ends sealed like they are but drilling into the side of the rails towards the front ends and welding AN fittings on at 90 degrees to the rails.
ANy thoughts?

Leave the stock crossover, with a parallel system its only function is to balance the pressure between the rails. It doesnt have to be AN6 unless you just must have it that way
Mount the regulator as a single feed setup, so the return doesnt come from the rails, it comes from the regulator just like the LS1 guys do

He means just running the regulator (whichever one you use) on the fuel rails and keeping the rails connected in series and running a return line from the regulator back to the tank.
As opposed to:
The article you posted talks about running two separate lines from a "Y" from the fuel pump (pressure) side, hence one line for each rail, then connecting two lines, one from the other side of each rail, to an external regulator, then the return line comes off the external regulator and goes back to the tank. This is the parallel system.

Pocket, do you think your suggestion will be sufficient for my 500+ horsepower LT1?

Re: LT1 Fuel Rail Modifications
Its been a while since i asked this question but i ended up going with the parallel system and made everything work out well. just need to mount the aeromotive FPR and connect the lines. I had return fittings welded to the rails just behind the front two injectors on each side and supply's are from the rear of the rails.
I'll be over 600 hp so i wanted to go with this setup.
