305 to LQ4 (LS2)
I was wondering if someone out there could help me to organize the laundry list of things that -'ll have to do to get my LQ4 into my 89 camaro, I've already factored throttle linkage, fuel pump/tank assembly. But I jus need some help organizing myself before I dive into this monstrous project. Or if you've done this before yourself, then let me know about what I'm getting myself into

Re: 305 to LQ4 (LS2)
The LQ4 and the LS2 are two different engines, the LQ4 is the truck 6.0 with an iron block and aluminum heads and the LS2 is all aluminum block/heads 6.0 that came in GTO's and a few other vehicles so i'm unsure on which one you have. Look in the LS1 swap sticky since it's basically the same thing, you will need an f-body intake as the truck one will not fit under the stock hood, and you'll also need a different accessory drive and oil pan (corvette or camaro). Among those thing you'll also need engine and transmission conversion mounts, wiring harness, PCM, PCM tune to remove VATS and other things, exhaust (camaro manifolds or longtube swap headers), and since it's an 89 it has a mechanical speedometer so you'll either need to get the elec to mech speedo box or you can swap in a 4th gen dash.
Also do you have a transmission? if not what will you be going with?
And I see you have a fuel pump/tank assy, is it from a fourth gen? if not you need to either get a vette filter with the regulator built in or just a regular fuel pressure regulator.
There is alot of things you have to do when doing this swap but imo it's all worth it, it's the little things here and there that add up $$.

Yes I have the LQ4 block, and no I don't have a tranny yet, but I was thinking a 4l60 or perhaps a manual from a fourth gen. And how would I be able to flash the pass key system? Wouldn't it be removed if I were to swap computers, then I could just take the wires out of the column. Wouldn't that work?

You have to both disable the VATS system in your '89 chassis, and in the PCM.
(Just curious: Many people post questions like this in the "regular" Engine Swap forum - is it not understood this is an LSx swap, and belongs in that sub-forum?)
